The Uganda Christian Medical Fellowship (UCMF), is an organization that brings together christian medical doctors and dentists, medical students and other affiliated health professionals in Uganda, to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The UCMF has been in existence since the mid 1970’s and was formally incorporated and registered as an organisation in 1987. UCMF has been a member of the International Christian Medical and Dental Association (ICMDA) since 1986. UCMF is the oldest national member of the ICMDA’s EastAfrica Region whose current national members include Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, Ethiopia andSouth Sudan. since the beginning, the nature of UCMF has been transforming to foster networking between christian medical professionals within and outside Uganda. Thus, membership to UCMF is currently open to christian medical and dental professionals who profess the christian faith and subscribe to our mission

The UCMF is a registered Non-governmental Organisation in Uganda and is a national member of the International Christian Medical and Dental Association (ICMDA) since 1986. UCMF is the oldest national member of the ICMDA’s East African Region whose other members include Kenya, Tanzania, Ethiopia, South Sudan, Democratic Republic of Congo, Burundi and Madagascar
Mission statement
To uphold the message and practice of Christianity in the field of Medicine and Dentistry.
Objectives
To point all men to a personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ and the constant deepening of fellowship with Him.
To encourage Christian medical professionals and students to actively participate in the spread of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
To promote active engagement and participation of medical professionals in matters related to the Christian faith and medical ethics.
To foster and maintain good standards of medical and dental care in Uganda health care facilities and the community.
To establish and maintain, by exemplary conduct the highest standard of scrupulousness, conscientiousness and integrity in medical and dental practice.
Membership
Membership to UCMF is open to Christian doctors, dentists, medical students and other health professionals in Uganda. The various membership categories as stipulated in the UCMF are listed below:
Full Member: A Christian medical doctor or dentist
Associate member: A Christian medical student; a family member (spouses and/or child) of a UCMF member; a qualified affiliated health professional
To become a UCMF member one must meet the basic criteria for the membership category, and they should submit complete and submit a membership form. Upon approval by the UCMF NEC for one to join as a member, each member is expected to pay the standing membership fee (currently 50,000 UGX). Membership status in the categories listed below is maintained by paying annual subscription fees as specified for each category. These are the current fees:
Associate members:
Medical Undergraduate Students: Reg. fee 10,000 (No annual subscription fee for students)
Others: UGX 50,000
Full Members:
Medical Doctors and Dentists: UGX 50,000
Specialist Medical Doctors & Dentists: UGX 100,000

UCMF is a member of the International Christian Medical and Dental Association (ICMDA), the organisation that unites Christian Medical Fellowships worldwide. UCMF is affiliated to Fellowship of Christian Unions (FOCUS). UCMF also collaborates with other national Christian organisations like the Uganda Hospital Christian Fellowship (UHCF) and Uganda Protestant Medical Bureau (UPMB).
